Hi Doctor thanks for being there. I just had an old memory. In 2008, during a day out in the field, in New Delhi, a puppy came to me and put his mouth on my lower right leg. My leg was uncovered. That area became slightly red. I showed it to my mother, who said it was nothing (and I trust her completely). I wanted to ask if, after 8 years, I was still at risk of contracting rabies.

Hello there....I can understand your concern. Rabies virus has a short incubation period. It usually has an incubation period of about 10 to 20 days. So you can relax now. There's no way you will get rabies because of the apparent dog bite 8 years back. Also for the virus to be transmitted, there need to be a deep bite, with bleeding.
