I had braces for gaps in my upper incisors and dey are little front
frst at the age of 13 yrs den the gaps appeared ryt aftr two mnths of completion of treatment
so i reconsulted other doctor
dey said i have to use retainers fr maintenance wch prvs doc dint advice
but aftr the second treatment from other doctor too but the high upfrnt teeth remained as a problem though gaps are closed due to retainers
its been 4 yrs Nd iam still afraid to get retainers removed out of fear dat gaps wl come back
now the retainers are causing swelling in gums
kindly advice wat shud i do
cant i smile like a normal person?
do i have any solution fr this. kindly help me to get it thanks sir

Hi. First and foremost i am not sure whether you undergone complete braces treatment. If you u have undergone, then ya definitely there are chances of relapse means teeth coming back to their original position. so you have to wear retainers. But it will be usually be for 1 or 2 years. But in some cases it needs for long duration. So in your case go for fixed retainers which are placed on inner surface, which are not seen for others. If you have fixed retainers you have to maintain hygiene means brushing at-least twice daily is mandatory.
