Did not get periods today
My last menses was on 26th September 2016. My periods were supposed to come today but they have not. Why has this happened? I am not sexually active also still why? Also, I experienced I had cramps before periods came but this time nothing happened. Should I wait? Is it common?

Dear Practo User, A normal menstrual cycle can show a normal variation of +/- 7 days in a healthy female, so do not worry. Wait for 7 days, do not take stress ( at times it causes the delay) , and since you are not sexually active , if it get more then a wk delayed , just visit a Gynaecologist , because  a quick look at your profile will help evaluate the cause.
Health Tips
If you are recently gaining weight, or having pimples or facial hair growth along with irregular cycles, do visit gynaecologist.

Hi..... In a normal menstrual cycle, a balance between the hormones estrogen and progesterone regulates the buildup of the lining of the uterus (endometrium), which is shed during menstruation. If a hormone imbalance occurs, mentrual irregularities occurs.. Periods can be delayed for a single cycle or it can be delayed in every cycle. If the delay is in only a single cycle, the most likely cause is a temporary cause like stress....
