Diagnostic tests at Birth
Which all diagnostic tests shall be conducted for a new born baby?
My daughter is 5 days old and was born with 2.25 kgs in 39th week of pregnancy.
She is an IUGR case.
Any sort of Eye test or hearing test or any other tests are conducted for new born babies?
Our pediatrician didn't conduct any such test on birth (atleast, in front of us).
Please guide.

New born screening is not routine in India
But many Pediatrician are recommending it
Few tests are included in new born screen
Baby blood group
G6PD
Thyroid function test
Phenylketonuria
Galactosemia
Sickle cell anemia
Thalasemmia
S. Bilirubin
Some test for other genetic disease and inborn error of metabolism
Many lab are offering some set of screening
Life cell
Clinical axom
Metropolis
SRL etc

Hi,
Go for the newborn screening card test. It covers most of the screening test
Get a red reflex test for eyes, OAE test for the ears.
