Since your father is diabetic, control of diabetes would be the first priority. His FBS is very high. Additionally the new guidelines by American Diabetes Association recommend the use of Statins (cholesterol lowering medications) for all patients who have diabetes mellitus and age between 40-75 years. So I would also advise you to start ROSUVASTATIN.
