Pcod is a condition in which there will be hormonal disturbances leading to problems with the monthly release of the egg. This indirectly manifests as irregular periods. First thing she needs to do is to loose weight if she is obese. Further treatment depends on whether you are considering to have a child now or not. If u r planning to have a child your doctor will consider medications to induce ovulation .If not she will be put on regular hormonal pills to get monthly periods which may also act as a contraceptive.
