Dandruff hairfall itching
I have been having hairfall problem along with dandruff n itching in my scalp. There are tiny yellowish white oval beads like things attached to the hair that falls, near the roots. And whenever I itch my scalp I get this greasy whitish stuff in my nails, and my scalp hurt when I tried to comb. I consulted a dermatologist and he gave me an anti fungal and anti dandruff treatment. When I was on the treatment the problem seemed under control and improving like less hairfall n no itching, but once the treatment completed it sort of started again. I was on a 3 month treatment and this has been going on for a year now.

Hi. Hairfall in young men could be patterned or unpatterned and either related to external causes or genetically pre-programmed as in the case of androgenetic alopecia. You may be suffering from early onset androgenetic alopecia. Does your father or brother or maternal uncles have balding? This could genetically predispose you to balding. Further environmental factors , pollution, stress, junk food and poor diet could cause you to lose hair further. You'll probably need treatment with hair care lotions or serums - something that has vasodilator properties and improves thickness of hair and reduces hair loss. Have a good balanced nutritious diet. Yes your hair density can be restored if you take timely treatment and care of your hair. If you have dandruff also, you'll need an antifungal shampoo / combined with weekly TCS containing shampoo – applying oils may worsen dandruff. See a qualified dermatologist near you. Hope this helps. Caution: Make sure you see a qualified MD / DNB/ DVD dermatologist for all your skin and hair issues. Don’t be lured in by quacks. Know your treating doctor/ discourage quackery!Warm regards, Dr Govind Suresh Mittal. Bengaluru
