Cyst removal surgery
My friend is a known thyroid pt (hypothyroidism)
Recently she got to know by the dentist that she has a cyst on her central incisor area and she has to get it removed by surgery
They have asked her to skip the medication for a day
Is it ok to do so?? Will there be any side effects? Or change in dose and box of the tablets?

It’s ok to skip medication for one day, it’s better get done thyroid profile( blood test), if it’s normal no need to worry, if report are not normal have to consult doctor.

If your friend is taking levothyroxine for hypothyroidism, it is generally not necessary to stop it before a minor oral surgical procedure. In fact, the usual recommendation is to continue the medication, even on the day of surgery, unless the treating surgeon or anesthetist has a specific reason to advise otherwise.

Hii ... ideally we can continue Thyroid medication ( Thyroxine, levothyroxine) on the day of surgery..with sip of water..she can take medicine..or she can skip medicine for 1 days..it's totally ok to skip thyroid medication for one day..no any side effects.. after operation she can take medicine normally..with same dose as well as dosage..
