The condition you describe is malrotation of the guy, it is not exactly a switch in the location of small and large intestine but more like they don't reach their normal position. Many people may have this condition and never even come to know. On the other hand, it may create confusion in diagnosis, for example acute appendicitis usually causes right sided abdominal pain but in case of malrotation the pain will occur on left side.
