Cramps on elliptical
Hello. I used to use the elliptical machine in the gym regularly for a long time without any issues . Recently though within 5 minutes of cardio activity on the elliptical, I get bad cramps on my lower abdomen/side areas. Because of this i am unable to continue. How can I avoid this from occurring?

Hi there...I hope you are giving your body time to recover between your workouts. Because accumulation of lactic acid also can cause muscle cramps. Also stretch your body completely before starting excercises. Else sudden movement of stiff muscles also can cause cramps. Take complete rest for few days. Rehydrate with ORS solution. If pain persists even after that, consult orthopedic for further evaluation.

Hello there. I can understand your concern. I hope you are giving attention to your diet. Have a banana everyday. Changes in the electrolytes can also cause cramps. Drink water mixed with ORS when you are doing your workout as it will replenish the electrolytes lost in sweat and you won't have such problems. Cap. Absolut 3g once a day for 10 days after food. Best regards. Dr. Anil Kumar Jain.
