Covid reinfection
My father had mucormycosis last year for which he was treated with maxillectomy 15 months back (post his covid hospitalisation). He has recently tested positive for Covid and has mostly recovered at home. Is there an increased chance of mucormycosis in this Covid infection?

Not unless he’s diabetic and his sugar levels are uncontrolled. Keep sugar levels on check regularly. Additionally you can instill saline drops over the maxillectomy cavity to keep the area moist. There should not be any form of crusting in the area. Avoid Anti-histamines such as cetirizine/ levocetirizine/ Fexofenadine.
