Hello, Thanks for your query on Practo "As" per your clinical history is concerned your problem is due to secondary bacterial infection only so take one antibiotic like [pancef-o 200mg twice a day for 7 days], add [actifed plus twice a day]for 5 days for fever and cold, add [Otrivin nasal sprays every 8 hours] for stuffy nose and do gargle your throat in warm saline water every 3 hours for throat pain.

1)Try to avoid upper respiratory infections. Minimize contact with people who have colds. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, especially before your meals. 2)Carefully manage your allergies. Work with your doctor to keep symptoms under control. 3)Try to avoid cigarette smoke and polluted air. Tobacco smoke and other pollutants can irritate and inflame your lungs and nasal passages. 4)Use a humidifier at night in your bedroom. It is likely that you have an upper respiratory tract infection. You will require antibiotic, antacids, antihistamine, antipyretics and cough syrup. The following steps may be of help: - Avoid cold food and water, preferably have hot food and water - Don't skip meals have a liquid diet containing soups and progressively increase to solid diet as per how you can tolerate. - Have food rich in vitamin C such as oranges to help build immunity. - Drink plenty of fluids, drink 3 liters of water per day - Do salt water gargling with lukewarm water thrice a day - Do steam inhalation (plain steam) thrice a day and apply vaporub over your chest and nose - Maintain good personal hygiene(Wash you hands regularly) - Rest plenty, body heals while at rest If the condition persists or worsens visit nearest ER at earliest
