Cosmetic surgery.
I am going to have my elbow surgery next week. The plates and screws are going to be removed. I want to get rid of the stitches scars so can I get a cosmetic surgery done? Will the cosmetic surgery be done right after the removal of plates? And is it safe to do so? Are there any side effects?

Hello there...I can understand your concern. But without seeing the scars it is very difficult to tell what procedure you will require. There are various procedures done for scar removal like intralesional triamcinolone acetonide injections, heparin gels, excision. It will depend on the scar. Scar removal will be done by the plastic surgeon. Consult the plastic surgeon at the hospital you are getting surgery done. They will councel you further.
