Actually it is a mis-belief that every pregnancy must result in a live child birth. If 100 ladies conceive about 30-40% of them will not be able to carry their pregnancy to full 9 months. These get aborted or have premature deliveries. So having an abortion only suggests that the baby didnt have the capacity to survive.
Nature believes in survival of the fittest. Hence pregnancies which are strong tend to survive and those which are not tend to get aborted. Some can be saved with medicines, but only upto a limit.
