there isn't sufficient history to give a specific diagnosis. It is likely that it could be sinusitis. He will require antihistamines and analgesics for the headache. I would advise you to visit a ENT if there's worsening of symptoms so that he can be examined physically and undergo the necessary investigations to find the underlying cause of the problem and have it treated accordingly. These following steps may help:
- Do steam inhalation(plain steam) regularly
- Drink water at an average of 3 liters per day
- Avoid caffeinated and alcoholic beverages as they cause dehydration and will worsen your condition.
- Have spicy food once in a while which will help clear your sinuses
- Use a humidifier in your room which is seen to be beneficial in sinusitis
- Wiping the face regularly with a towel moist with hot water has also shown to help.
