Concern after sex
Hello. My daughter is 23 and had unprotected sex yesterday. She has never done this before and is very upset, there was a problem with the condom. She took Plan B today. Should she take PEP as well? She has no reason to believe the man is HIV positive and he says he is not, but I am concerned.

Find out if the partner is known and  whether the partner had multiple sexual partners.if unsure, find out if he is willing to get himself tested. Efficacy of PEP is maximum when started the earliest and within 72 hours. If gas may side effects. So will not consider it unless absolutely necessary
Next Steps
Many infections can be transmitted sexually. Further management requires more clarity about the partner and more details.
