Today I got a Tetanus shot, however the medical practitioner while breaking the ampoule, cut his thumb. He wiped the blood on a cloth and immediately took the alcohol swab and applied the injection on my arm. He placed his finger to focus the needle while applying. That made me worried.
Can I get Hepatitis B or C infection since his thumb was cut and some blood might be present on his finger or thumb? I had taken anti hepatitis B vaccine long back in 1999, then a booster 8 years after that since I took the (0,1,2) schedule of Engerix B vaccine. On September 2021, I had taken a Hepatitis B vaccine as a booster (as the person giving injection had put his finger on the needle).
Kindly advise, if I should be worried?
