I am a 19-year-old male. I have been experiencing sleepwalking (walking during sleep) and sleep talking (mumbling or speaking during sleep) since childhood. According to my family members and now my hostel roommate, I sometimes get up from bed during sleep, walk around, and talk or mumble without being aware of it.
The most concerning part is that I have no memory of these episodes the next morning. I wake up completely unaware that anything happened during the night. This problem has been present for many years and is now causing significant difficulty because I live in a hostel, where there is a risk of leaving the room or getting injured while sleepwalking.
I would like an evaluation for chronic sleepwalking (somnambulism) and sleep talking, and guidance regarding whether I need further tests (such as a sleep study) or treatment.
