My father would like to for cataract surgery and wanted to know what type of surgery and lenses he should go for. He has diabetic and the PP is 235 and fasting is around 135

First you should get your father's blood sugar controlled at normal level at time if surgery because diabetic patients are more prone to infection. You should go for phaco-emulsification with foldable lens ( my choice in this case will be acryosof single piece IQ ALCON) having 20 yrs experience with these lens for diabetes patient, do not go multi focal lens ,expenditure around rs30000 but not in five star hospital, with regards

Go for any unifocal aspheric lens. Dont go for multifocal lens. Sometimes diabetic patients need retinal laser treatment and multifocal lens makes treatment difficult.
