Can retina be checked without dialation
Hello doctor I have question can retina be checked thoroughly without dialation just with slit lamp and some round magnifying lens. I have been diagnosed with PVD in both eyes  year ago.I went for eye checkup a week back doctor checked my eyes with slit lamp and magnifying lens without dialation and said everything is fine.after the vist I started seeing some occasional flashes or light dot appearing and disappearing in front of left eye(once or twice in a day) . Are these flashes  due to dry eyes do I need to get my eyes checked again. How is PVD completion diagnosed. Do I need to get any imaging for PVD. How long does it take PVD to complete.

Retina cannot be checked thoroughly without dilation. Especially for PVD, periphery of retina has to be examined which needs dilation.
