Can pain upper stomach be gas
My uncle who is now 60 years old, keeps on giving loud burps. He also complain of pain in his upper stomach and keeps rubbing all time. Can upper stomach pain because of gas? He is 60, are we missing any other cause for the stomach pain? What should be done to take care of him?

hi.. the symptoms of burps and upper stomach pain could mean he has an acidity problem for which he can be given antacids for relief. But we also need a clearer history of whether he has any acid reflux,loose motions, weight loss etc and given his age a thorough examination and investigation would be helpful in ruling out any underlying disease if present
