Bypass surgery along with lung tumour
My Father-in-law got cardiac arrest and admitted in hospital. Upon angiogram they confirmed 3 arteries blocked and recommend Bypass surgery. Upon investigation they identified tumour on lungs which of (79*23) mm in size. Tumour not spread futher, we confirmed the same through PET CT SCAN. Now, the issue bothering us is, can both the surgeries performed together. If so, what could be survival chance. He got no allergies or previous medical issues. For past 2 years he's on medications for pressure related issues. No (asthama/diabetes). He got admitted in ICU for past 4 days and even under medical supervision. He complains chest pain Your valuable suggestions/recommendations are much appreciated in this situation Thank you,

Yes. It can be performed safely together. The prognosis depends upon the type if the tumor which can be ascertained by histopath after surgical removal. Hope this helps. Regards, Dr Manish Garg

Decision of both surgeries at a time depends on surgeons opinion. For me present problem is heart related with critical blocks. If you ask me i would give preference to bypass surgery over lung surgery at present if both can not ne done at a time.
