My son is 1month 6days old.from day 10,he is on fm and bm both but then after few days I stopped fm and breastfeed him as much as possible sometimes even after 10minutes. I have good milk supply and his pee count is more than 10.but from yesterday he started crying, he had acid reflux and gas issues, I gave the medicines, tummy time, tummy oil massage, hing paste, burped him, breastfeed frequently but he didn't sleep and grunted and passed gas. then I gave him formula (enfamil 2oz. with 2spoon),he feed and then slept instantly. so I think of giving him formula twice a day once in the morning, once at night and rest of the time will breastfeed him.is it right decision?will that harm my baby?if yes please suggest some alternate ideas..

My suggestions
1. Exclusive breast feeding till 6 months of age
As you have enough milk it’s the best
2. If you think breast feeding is not adequate you can give formula feeds in spoon or paladai
3. Burping after every feed is important
4. Occasionally babies may spit up feeds—that’s okay
5. If your baby is active and gaining weight adequately you need not worry

A healthy baby usually feeds every 2-3hourly. When the baby is adequately fed the baby will remain playful and sleep quietly for the next 2-3 hours after a feed. If you feel the need to breast feed earlier than that, especially at a 10 min interval that suggests that possibly the last feed was inadequate. At this stage rather than abrubtly shifting from mixed feeding to exclusive breast feeding it would be better if you make the transition gradually while assessing if after every feeding he remains playful for the next 2-3 hours. If not so then you can supplement with formula. Gradually you can change over to exclusive breast feeding. If supposing you find that the baby has fallen asleep while breast feeding then gently stroke the soles of the baby, gently touch the ears, interact with the baby during the process of feeding or partially remove the nipples, this way the baby will wake up again and start sucking.
