Blood Thinners
I was diagnosed with A-fib and had an ablation procedure in October. I have a heart monitor now to see if the procedure worked. Meanwhile, I've had problems on Xarelto and the price was outrageous. I call my heart doctor and was prescribed Eliquis. I have medicare, a supplemental plan and a prescription plan but with this the medication would cost me $128 per week, $548 per year. What if I decide to use aspirin and take my chances?

Xarelto or Eliquis are given for keeping your heart free of clots. ASPIRIN IS NOT ENOUGH FOR THAT. A cheaper option is warfarin or coumadin. But they requires monthly blood tests and have some dietary restrictions. Please talk to your cardiologist about these options.
