Blood Donation
Is it a fact that people taking medicines for BP, are not supposed to donate blood ? I was refused at a donation when they learnt I take medicine for BP. In today's world how relevant is this when people with smoking and drinking habit are allowed to donate blood.

You may donate blood as long as your blood pressure is below 180 systolic (first number) and below 100 diastolic (second number) at the time of donation. Medications for high blood pressure do not disqualify you from donating.
