Black itchy dry skinfolds
My Son aged 4 has typically dry skin. He has developed small blackish heat type itchy patches on skin folds, especially neck, fold of hands & legs and butt folds. Have applied ATogla and some random medicines like desonide, elocon etc etc with just temporary relief and this reappears. Now it has come on fold of his upper and lower lip. I am worried. What is this and who can help me. I think I need a good paediaric doctor. I stay in Borivali West. Pls advise me. I am concerned for my kid

Greeetings. You need to see a qualified dermatologist or a pediatric dermatologist near you. Your child seems to have atopic dermatitis. this is a chronic condition and you need to be aware of lot of general measures like moisturising, bathing, prevention of contact with allergens, use of TCS creams judiciously, and avoidance of itch, etc. hope this helps. Further queries may be directed on follow up messaging. warm regards

Hi. From your description, there are a few possibilities. One possibility is atopic dermatitis. Again it needs to be seen by a nearby dermatologist for a proper diagnosis and thereby further treatment. U can follow up with me. Also on private chat. Regards, Dr. Zubin Mandlewala Kandivali, MUMBAI
