Bells palsy which is a form of facial nerve paralysis usually recovers well with physiotherapy and steroids. But any facial palsy which has not recovered completely needs to be treated within 1 to 2 years of occurrence usually by surgical methods. Long standing facial palsy usually requires plastic surgical procedures but results are not very satisfactory especially in patients with partial weakness. In any case consult plastic surgeon for further information
