I was diagnosed with barotrauma of both ears at the emergency room. After a week of sudafed, pain medication and a steroid, my condition has not improved. There is still pain, pressure, ringing, sensitivity to noise, and it feels like fluid in the ear. To visit an ENT means flying to where my insurance is accepted, and I do not know if I can fly in this condition without potentially hurting my ears further.

You seem to have had severe otitic barotrauma leading to hemotympanum (blood in the middle ear). Even with treatment recovery may take longer as much as 3 to 4 weeks. You can wait till then and avoid flying at this stage. You can try doing pressure equalization exercises at home
Next Steps
Consult nearby ENT specialist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
