Bad back pain with my UTI
I went to an Urgent Care Monday evening because I was having painful urination and urgency when I had to go.
I did a urinalysis and she said there was bacteria in my urine.
She gave me Macrobid for 5 days.
I am on day 3 and the last two days I have had terrible side and back pain.
I do not have a fever and I do not have the burning or urgency symptoms any more....
I called them, but they told me to finish my meds and wait for the culture to come back.
Is this normal for a regular UTI?

Hi..... Urinary tract infections can be painful, but you can take steps to ease your discomfort until antibiotics treat the infection. Follow these tips:
Drink plenty of water. Water helps to dilute your urine and flush out bacteria.
Avoid drinks that may irritate your bladder.Avoid coffee, alcohol, and soft drinks containing citrus juices or caffeine until your infection has cleared. They can irritate your bladder and tend to aggravate your frequent or urgent need to urinate.
Use a heating pad. Apply a warm, but not hot, heating pad to your abdomen to minimize bladder pressure or discomfort.
