ASD 7 mm and VSD 4mm

Asked for Male, 34 Years

My son born on 14.08.2023 had undergone a regular ECHO at birth where the doctor found an ASD of 7 mm and a VSD of 4 mm. He is now 2 months 11 days old and all his behavioural patterns are normal. He is peeing and pooping normally. He is also breast- feeding normally. We would like to know: 1) What symptoms should we look out for, so as to prevent any emergency till such date where either the septal defects close on their own or close with surgery? 2) Does crying or any other physical activity, exacerbate the situation? Regards

Hello, watch out for the symptoms like refusal of feeds or decreased intake of feeds, poor weight gain , coughing, forehead sweating while feeding, irritability, fast breathing, lethargy. Crying doesn’t exacerbate.
