Arnold Chiari malformation Type 1
Recent MRI Scans shows that my mother has Arnold chiari malformation type 1 and presence of syrinx at D2 Spinal canal...my question is whether treatment for this is only surgery or any other options available without going for surgery?

If asymptomatic do nothing... If symptomatic syrinx.... Go ahead with surgery
