WSIDOM TEETH EXTRACTED

2017-09-16 13:52:42
Both my lower wisdom teeth were extracted last week. So will my ability to chew reduce as there are only 4 molars instead of 6 in the lower jaw?? Will my lower jaw become weak because of this?? What will be the long term impact of it? Thank you

Many people don't have wisdom teeth. Only 4molars are needed in one arch to chew food.. So no need to worry...

wisdom teeth or third molars are not used to chew. Chewing is done by the first and second molars so your ability to chew will not be affected. There will be no harm to the jaw. if only your lower wisdom teeth were removed then you might have to remove the opposing third molars because in the long run they tend to drift downwards because of lack of opposing teeth which in turn can lead to food lodgement and decay.
Next Steps
please visit a dentist to see if you need removal of upper wisdom teeth.
Health Tips
wisdom teeth are vestigeal as our diet has gone towards softer diet we no longer need them infact not everyone gets wisdom teeth and they can chew just fine :)
