Wisdom tooth issues/ pain is quite common since this tooth is the last tooth to erupt in the mouth and hence may not have the space needed to erupt normally. Ideally when a wisdom tooth starts causing discomfort the best long term/ permanent solution is to extract/ remove the tooth ie if the issue is the position of the tooth. If the tooth is decayed and causing the pain then your dentist may choose to ‘save’ the tooth depending on the extent of decay and whether there is an opposing tooth present.
Next Steps
In light of the pandemic - taking antibiotics and painkillers for 3-5 days would be the first choice if the pain is not too severe. Following this, a visit to an oral surgeon is needed where the doctor will take an opg xray and do a clinical examination to see if the tooth needs to be removed.
Health Tips
Not to worry - wisdom tooth pain is common and can be dealt with easily to give you relief from pain.
