After wisdom tooth extraction, pain is usually highest for 2–3 days. It gradually reduces within 5–7 days. Complete healing of the socket takes about 2–3 weeks. If pain is severe, increasing after 3–4 days, or associated with bad smell or swelling, consult your dentist to rule out dry socket. Mild to moderate pain for a few days is normal.
