Vanishing twin and AFP result

Does vanishing twin cause high AFP or alpha fetoprotein result?I did AFP test at 12 weeks of pregnancy that time of test my vanishing twin died 4 weeks already, but the crl still measure 1.63cm that time so not yet reabsorbed by my body.

You should be more worried about your twin which is alive. Till about 30 years ago we never knew that the patient had twins. One foetus dead , retained, and expelled after a gap of 3-4 months  along with normal delivery of the other twin, and then we used to realise that the lady had twins. Now so much noise is made as if the Doctor is personally responsible for the death of one twin. Advanced Technology has made diagnosis easy but it has made life miserable for the patient and doctor.
