I got scratch from cat 6 months ago i take full vaccine course that time... recently i scratch by a dog and doctor told me to take 2 intradermal injection day 0 and day3 i take again for reassurance I again take one intramascular injection in day 08 is it cancel previous vaccine or I am safe i m really worried does intradermal and this intramascular vaccine both work or cancel for taking this last intramascular injection plzz help

Please be reassured—you are safe, and nothing has been cancelled or harmed by taking an extra intramuscular (IM) rabies vaccine. Rabies vaccines given intradermally (ID) or intramuscularly (IM) are equally effective in stimulating immunity. Taking an additional IM dose does not negate or cancel the protection from your earlier ID booster doses.
Since you had a full rabies vaccine course 6 months ago and then received 2 booster doses (Day 0 and Day 3) after the recent dog scratch, your protection was already adequate as per guidelines. The extra IM dose on Day 8 is not dangerous and simply acts as an additional booster.
Next Steps
• No further rabies vaccine doses are needed for this exposure
• No rabies immunoglobulin (RIG) is required since you were previously vaccinated
• Observe the dog if possible for 10 days (if it remains healthy, risk is negligible)
• Consult a doctor only if you develop unusual vaccine reactions (very rare)

You are safe, please don’t worry. Intradermal and intramuscular rabies vaccines are the same vaccine, just given by different routes. Taking one IM dose after completing the ID boosters does not cancel or reduce the effect of the earlier doses. It only adds extra protection.
Next Steps
No further vaccine is needed now. Just keep a note of the doses you’ve taken. There is no need for repeat injections for this exposure.
