Vaccination, hitted head, fever
My one year baby got his mr and je first dose yesterday morning, in the evening he fell from bed and cried , swelling on the right side of head but he is active. But this morning he is having a slight fever . His body is feeling slightly hot when touched , he is active and playing. Please advise me fever is due to the vaccine or falling from bed.

Fever could be due to either:
Vaccine reaction: Mild fever (especially after MR) is common within 24–72 hours, Can last 1–2 days
Usually not a concern if baby is feeding and active
Head injury-related: Post-fall fever may indicate inflammation or rarely, underlying complication
Needs attention only if red flag signs are present
Falls from bed are common at this age. Encourage use of:
Bed railings
Floor mattress for play/sleep
Never leave child unattended on raised surfaces
Next Steps
Give paracetamol every 6–8 hours for fever
Use cold compress gently over scalp swelling
Monitor temperature and activity
Health Tips
Red flags:
Baby becomes drowsy, irritable, or unresponsive
Vomiting repeatedly
Seizures
Bleeding from nose, ears, or mouth
Swelling rapidly increasing or becomes tense
Fever > 102°F not responding to paracetamol

Fever is a by product of infection or inflammation in the body, and in this case, it's in all probability the vaccination.
Next Steps
Please measure temperature. If more than 100 degrees F, give paracetamol and tepid sponging.
