Hi, My son has got only government vaccinations which are provided in government hospitals. He is now 14 months old. I want to know what other vaccinations can be given now to him other then government vaccines. What are mandatory vaccination that should be given to prevent from any type of illness. What would be the impact of missed, non mandatory vaccines? Any suggestions for now?

Hi. Other than government vaccination schedule, the vaccines that are recommended are Hepatitis A, typhoid, Chickenpox, flu, PNEUMOCOCCAL and meningococcal vaccines.

Can go for Pneumonia , flu and typhoid vaccines. Rotavirus vaccine ( protect from diarrhea) can't be given now.. All vaccines provided in govt are mandatory vaccines.

At 14 moths of age, besides government vaccines.. the baby should hv received mmr, typhoid, Cp, pneumococcal, and flu. All of these are relevant and important in the Indian context..depending on your state, availability of vaccine etc .. what is ultimately given also varies. Would suggest u meet your paediatrician to sort out the issues.

Government vaccination schedule includes essential vaccines which are part of national significance.It usually doesn't include flu vaccine, varicella vaccine, Pneumococcal vaccine and Typhoid vaccine at your baby's age
