UTI in my 4.5m old baby boy

Hello, my 4.5m old baby boy has been continuously throwing up and carried out Urine routine which detected LEUCOCYTE ESTERASE : DETECTED TRACE. Does this mean he has UTI? How common is it in such a young age Anything to be worried about?I am ebf and his intake had drastically reduced too.

Please get urine routine and culture (collected in a sterile, mid stream sample) from a reliable lab. If uti is proven you also need to get an ultrasound done.

Hello good morning UTI is very common even in infants also and if it’s not treated on time then it’s not good for baby’s health. Baby usually do not accept feeds in infections . kindly take consultation it can be treated so not to worry thank you

Trace leukocyte esterase is not very significant but the lab results can only help so much. If the baby is clinically not well, he might still have a UTI or some other infection. He shouldn’t be continuously throwing up - probably got a bit of tummy upset from mouthing his toys. Please make sure to sterilise anything he mouths too.

Hello. Though this is not significant. You can get urine culture and sensitivity test done by proper technique. But if it is really UTI,need ti investigate further with abdominal scan.
