The reason for gingival exposure might be due to short upper lip , increased maxillary (upper jaw)  facial height , so after seeing the lateral cephalogram(a side skull X-ray) a definitive treatment can be determined, We can normally correct such situation using orthodontics(Braces/Aligner dentistry) by intruding(pushing into the bone) the upper front teeth.

Get a proper dentist appointment. It can be due to buccal frenum improper attachment. If that's the reason you will be advised for frenectomy procedure. Or it can be just of excessive gums that will be removed surgically followed by veneers.

If you undergo gingivectomy with crowns your teeth will look big as it takes in the space of the gums at present. So you have two options- 1. Lip lengthening after assessing if you really have short lips. We can do a five minutes mock up of it in our clinic if you’re interested. 2. Gummy smile correction through fixed braces plus mini implants, where your teeth are intruded inside first and then gum contouring can be done
