A radial head fracture generally does not completely heal in 15 days. The exact duration of immobilisation depends on the type and displacement of the fracture, and keeping the elbow immobilised for too long can also cause significant stiffness. Your hypothyroidism can affect bone healing if it is poorly controlled, but taking
thyroid medication does not by itself prevent healing.
Next Steps
Please consult your orthopaedic doctor before removing the plaster. A repeat X ray may be required to assess fracture alignment and healing and to decide when you can safely start elbow movements.
Health Tips
Do not remove the plaster or start forceful elbow exercises on your own. If you have increasing pain, swelling, numbness or difficulty moving your fingers, seek medical attention promptly.
