Very bigger defects, chance of obstruction is less, though it is there anyways. If it is cosmetically disfiguring big swelling, you can go ahead with surgery. If she is having any other significant problems like diabetes, heart disease, and kidney problems due to her age, you can decide after seeing the risk of anesthesia.
