Trisomy 18

Hello doctor, I am in my second pregnancy. 1st one is a normal and active 3 year old through LSCS. And my 12-14 weeks NT scan shows a trisomy 18 final value of 1:384. Will the baby be affected by Edwards syndrome. My doctor after consulting with the sonologist said it's ok. I am in my 20th week and has been advised for an anomaly scan. I don't have any family history of down syndrome. I am much worried will it be a problem?

It's easy to advise not to worry But be calm .,as it will have an effect on the fetus . You have not mentioned the N.T . thickness .
Next Steps
At 20-22 weeks , anamoly scan is done which rules out your suspicion .
Health Tips
In your case it's better to do a triple or quadruple test . this test plus anamoly scan report either confirms or rules out Trisomy 18.

Hi. Wait  for 22 weeks scan. If there is any problem it will be easy to detect in this scan .
