Toothache after root canal and file
I had a root canal first visit on Sunday however I'm in more pain today, my dentist saw me again yesterday and filed one of my teeth down but today my jaw is swollen and lymph node and I'm still in pain and pain killers don't work, is this normal? How can I get this all sorted asap? I can't see my dentist now until next week as she is on holiday

Sometimes there's an acute exacerbation of infection/inflammation in the root canal if the infected tissue inside the canals of a tooth is not completely removed on the first visit and/or sometimes it may be because of a reaction caused by medicinal dressing (soaked cotton pellet) that is put inside your tooth. In either of the cases, tooth has to be cleaned and washed again from inside.
