Hi Am 30 years old. Yesterday I have gone to dentist for tooth decay. They told they will clean, fill and put cap on teeth. I said ok started the procedure. After cleaning the tooth my cheeks got swollen. Is  swelling of cheek is common after the procedure and goes away?? How long does it takes to go?? or should I go to doctor again??

How decayed your tooth was? Are you undergoing RCT? Swelling may occur after starting RCT procedure which will subsequently be resolved.

Hi, There will be mild swelling in the gingiva after cleaning which will subside on its own in 2 days. Observe the cheek swelling for one more day. If it doesn't subside, meet the dentist again.

Swelling in cheeks after cleaning is not common. Better Visit your dentist for physical evaluation and treatment (as required).
