Tongue Taste Sensation Loss After RCT

2018-07-11 16:39:59
I had RCT around 20th June and I was injected with local anaesthesia on my cheek and tongue for numbing it. Now even after 20 odd days, I cannot feel salty and sweet taste sensation on my tongue. It sucks. Is this effect permanent or will it fade away with time?

Hello mam....      It is a normal phenomena...That numbness is due to accidental contact of needle with nerve during injection of local anesthesia...In medical terms we called it as paresthesia....In some circumstance it may take up to 6 months to resolve...It is a temporary complication only ..No need to worry about this mam....It will resolve of its own...
