I m not able to chew everything nicely. I feel the pressure on face and temple area also pains when I press them. On left side I have a small lump infront of my ear since 4 years or more which sometimes feels sensation if put pressure on it. I have shown it to doctor she said its normal tissue nothing like a big lump so not to worry. These chewing problem and pain around temple area is bothering me very much.

hello, pain could be due to grinding or clenching very hard. you need to visit a dentist and get it checked. ask for a night guard. you need to relax and try to calm down. you can do hot water fomentation near your ear. this will give you some relief. you can take a hot water bath before sleeping or listen to music. this will help you calm down.

Reasons for tmj issues could be varied Extracapsular: a masticatory system problem without joint derangement. Intracapsular: a derangement inside the TMJ capsule Other: a medical condition affecting the masticatory system, which often requires expertise outside of dentistry to diagnose and treat, eg, systemic, neurologic Based on type treatment varies First step includes correction of bite using a deprogrammer. If pain is relieved bite correction is done. If not Arthrocentesis or surgical approach may be required after a MRI at ct scan of the tmj. As for the lump nothing can be said until diagnostics.
