I doubt that there would be a direct connection between upper molar extraction and your TMJ pain. But because you might have had to keep your mouth n for long times, it might have caused straining of your TMJ’s ligaments.
You will need to see a TMJ specialist.
Until then, follow these:
1. Don’t test your pain again and again by opening your mouth fully.
2. To try to reproduce the sound coming from TMJ (if so) by opening your mouth again and again.
3. Use hot (towel in hot water) and/ or cold (ice pack) alternately to foment the affected jaws.
4. Just relax. This pain will go away if you give your jaw some rest.
