Redness, swelling of the tip of the penis, dryness, and itching around the foreskin or glans are commonly seen in conditions such as balanitis (inflammation of the glans penis) or balanoposthitis (inflammation of the glans and foreskin). These symptoms can occur due to fungal overgrowth, local irritation, poor genital hygiene, excessive moisture, friction, allergic reactions to soaps or personal care products, or elevated blood sugar levels. Since you mention having pre-diabetes, even mildly elevated blood sugar levels can sometimes make a person more prone to recurrent genital irritation and fungal infections. The symptoms you describe do not immediately suggest a serious disease, but they do warrant proper examination to identify the exact cause.
Next Steps
Pay attention to whether there is: White deposits or discharge under the foreskin. Cracking of the skin. Pain during urination. Foul smell. Difficulty retracting the foreskin. Increasing redness or swelling. Avoid applying multiple creams or home remedies without a clear diagnosis, as this can sometimes worsen irritation. Maintain good genital hygiene by gently cleaning and drying the area, but avoid harsh soaps or excessive scrubbing. For personalized assessment, proper diagnosis, and a holistic Ayurvedic treatment approach, you may connect with us at 9 3 1 5 6 6 1 5 6 5. A detailed consultation can help determine the root cause and guide appropriate treatment based on your individual condition.
Health Tips
Keep the area clean and dry, wear loose cotton undergarments, and avoid prolonged moisture accumulation. Change undergarments daily and avoid scented soaps, deodorants, or other products that may irritate the skin. Maintain a healthy diet, regular exercise, and good blood sugar control, as metabolic health plays an important role in skin and genital health. Most cases of redness and swelling of the glans are due to benign inflammatory or infective conditions and improve significantly once the underlying cause is identified and addressed appropriately. Thank you

Redness, swelling, dryness and itching of the glans/foreskin may be due to balanitis, fungal infection, irritation or uncontrolled blood sugar. Prediabetes can increase the risk of such infections. Maintain good genital hygiene, keep the area dry and avoid self-medication until the cause is confirmed. Ayurveda can help as supportive treatment after proper diagnosis. Please consult me with images/details so I can assess the condition and guide the appropriate treatment.
