Thyroid in pregnancy

I am in 2nd trimester(4th month pregnancy), got minor level thyroid 5.0. can i eat cauliflower else it cause any effects. ?

Hello, Eating cauliflower may affect thyroid gland functioning. Are you taking medications for thyroid? If not then consult a physician and get TSH, T3 and T4 levels checked because if thyroid is left untreated then it may affect your pregnancy and baby.

Avoid cauliflower as it can further decrease thyroid function. You need to be started on thyroxine immediately. Untreated hypothyroidism can lead to many problem in baby.

Cauliflower is a goitrogenic vegetable and can have an effect on thyroid production. I think you should avoid it. Another thing is tsh level above 5 should warrant starting thyroxine.
